Halebid -  Historical & cultural gem. Another excellent  Hoysala architecture. The temple took 86 years to build but still incomplete. The wall of the temple are covered with  intricate carvings of animals, birds, dancing girls.Yet no two facets of the temple look the same. 

BelurThe town is renowned for its Chennakesava Temple, one of the finest examples of Hoysala workmanship. The Chennakeshava temple was completed in 1116 by Hoysala Vishnuvardhana. The temple is 37 meters tall and is standing on a platform which has exquisite art work on its outer walls and bracket figures of dancing girls in various poses in perfect proportion. There are shrines of Kappe Chenniga Andal, Saumya Nayaki etc. The temple here is a classic example of Hoysala art, and Belur was one of the Hoysala Capitals.

Shravana Belagola- A city located near Channarayapatna. Chandragupta Maurya is said to have died here in 298 BCE after he became a Jain monk and assumed an ascetic life style. Shravanabelagola has two hills, Chandragiri and Vindhyagiri. Acharya Bhadrabahu and his pupilChandragupta Maurya are believed to have meditated there.

Cave Shrine-   A venerated shrine in cave. A shrine revered by thousands throng for blessings and miraculous cures, short distance from here is Manikya Dhara famous water fall with epics associated to it. Baba Budan Giri represents a unique syncretic culture of Hindus and Muslims where both offer prayers in a cave-like structure. It derived its name from a Muslim Sufi saint who was in turn the disciple of another Sufi saint called Hazrath Dada Hayath Meer Khalandar. 

Kemmangundi – Beautiful hill station.28 kms to the north-west,  situated 4732 ft above sea level, a place for spirit of adventures, a perfect gateway with salubrious climate. Kemmannugundi was established as the summer retreat of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and as a mark of respect to the king, it is also known as Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station. The station is ringed by theBaba Budan Giri Range, with cascades, mountain streams, and lush vegetation, Kemmangundi’s has ornamental gardens and mountains and valleys views. There is a spectacular sunset view from the Raj Bhavan.

Kalhatti Falls -  Located at Kallattipura. The waterfall is 10 kilometers away from Kemmangundi hill station. It offers an excellent view of the cascading water from the Chandra Drona Hill from 122 meters (400 ft) above in front of the Veerabhadreshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Mullayanagiri  Peak  -  A treasure seeker paradise. The exotic, charming and loftiest peak 6355 ft above sea level and Shiva temple crowning the top, a place for spirit of adventure, amazing wild life, extended plateau, thorny shrubs, slippery rocks, literate caves, colonies of bats, endangered tigers, bonnet, lion tailed macaque, gaur, elephants etc. A sight and quiet mysticism place and a crest across the hills where rain slices into the cliff face, enjoy spectacular panaromic view of Chikmaglur town, villages, sylvan slopes and dense forest from the peak.  Air alive with tales,  climbing high above the world feel the joy of trekking an unusual form of travel.  Trekking a fitness sport but an activity to make us sensitive to the nature. Coffee– Today’s kitchen crop. A deciple bababudan brought back seven coffe seeds from his piligrimage and planted the first coffee sapling around his shrine in 1670 ad. At the time of tippu sultan it was sold at the local weekend fairs. In 18th century british turned large areas of forest into coffee plantaions.

Muthodi  forest & Hebbe Falls – Reality is better than imagination. A wild life sanctuary surrounded by hills abuts the back waters of bhadra reservior,  a diverse and exciting range of wild-life bisons, elephants. Tigers, panthers. Sambars, spotted deers, wild boars, porcupines, peacock, patridge, pigeon, parrots, reptiles and snakes.
